President's Message
Michelle Hurd, CAE

Join us for our Annual Meeting on April 23rd!

We hope you are planning to attend the ISAE Annual Meeting on April 23rd at the newly opened Hilton Downtown, our meeting host!

The annual meeting is always a great time to summarize the activities of the past fiscal year and recognize the members who have worked hard to provide the benefits of education, motivation and networking opportunities for you.

This year we are trying a new format by combining the lunch and program in a condensed version of this meeting. Our speaker, Kevin Kush, is certainly one you'll want to hear present on the traits you need to turn your organization in to a cohesive, high-performing team. Don't miss it!

I look forward to seeing you soon at the annual meeting!

Presentation Title: A Piece of the Puzzle, Eight Traits of a Quality Teammate
Speaker:  KEVIN KUSH
How well do the members of your organization or team work together? Are you a smooth, well-oiled machine or a fractured collection of in-it-for-yourself individuals? In a straight forward no-excuses style, Kevin Kush discusses eight traits that can turn any group or organization into a cohesive, high-performing team. Including; respecting everyone, handling adversity, adapting to change, and the importance of having high energy and being accountable. Coach Kush’s passion for performance is contagious and will help lead your team to greater productivity and success!

About the Speaker:

Kevin Kush has been involved in coaching and teaching for over thirty years. Coach Kush spent 21 of those years working with at-risk youth at Boys Town in Omaha Nebraska. As a head football coach, he compiled a remarkable record of 164 wins and just 58 losses with 13 of those teams finishing in the top 10. Coach Kush now speaks full time to a variety of groups including teachers, youth organizations, and companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in marketing and business education, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska in vocational and adult education. In 2005 Mr. Kush was featured on ABC World News Tonight as their Person of the Week.

Membership News

Not every manager is a leader and not every leader is a manager. A good association executive or staff person can be both—with the right training.

That’s where the ISAE Leadership Program comes into the equation. The ISAE Leadership Program is comprised of six strategic one-day programs over a six month period designed to instill in you the necessary qualities to not only provide stability to your organization, but also giving you confidence that instills trust in others so they choose to follow your leadership. More Information...

The program is offered every other year and we are gearing up to offer this class again in the Fall of 2018. The 2018/2019 class will be held from October, 2018- March, 2019. Registration to OPEN SOON!

Membership News

If you are a new professional in the association industry, you won't want to miss the exciting news about activities being planned for our ISAE Emerging Leaders!

Maggie Feldmann, Iowa Bankers Association, is spearheading this group.  More information will be rolled out at the annual meeting in April. If you are interested in getting involved or serving on the committee, please contact Maggie at IBA or Monica at the ISAE office.
